Resource Centers

Here we have put together a list of on-campus resources for UCLA students.
Academic Advancement Program (AAP)

AAP programs and services are linked together by an underlying belief that all AAP students have earned their academic right to be at UCLA and have demonstrated the academic potential to excel at, and graduate from, UCLA. Our mission is carried out in a coordinated and integrated manner by a professional and para-professional student staff who share in a common vision and sense of purpose. Our programs and services are proactive rather than reactive, comprehensive rather than fragmented, and oriented toward furthering the long-term academic and personal growth of AAP students – rather than merely solving or mitigating immediate problems. Moreover, AAP encourages and promotes academic achievement and excellence.

Undergraduate Writing Center

Our goal is not only to help students with a particular writing assignment but also to help them become more effective and confident writers. We offer support at any point in the writing process: when writers are starting a writing assignment; after they have written a draft or part of a draft; after they have gotten feedback from a professor or TA and want to begin revising; as they are polishing a paper and want help in learning how to proofread and edit their own writing. Serving as attentive and experienced readers, peer learning facilitators (PLFs) work collaboratively with writers and tailor sessions to the writers’ needs and concerns.
